The 2015 Jaguar XJ was unchanged from the previous model year, which speaks to its enduring appeal. The V6 engine was included for the first time in this model year and offered drivers the option to utilize all-wheel drive. The eight-speed automatic transmission became the standard gearbox for the first time, while a stop-start function helped push fuel economy to levels not typically available from a powertrain with such high levels of output. A more user-friendly electronics interface and a higher-quality sound system were integrated into all trim levels. Plus, both the Supercharged and Supersport trim levels received updates like aerodynamic aids, improved handling, and a faster top speed of 174 mph.

Modest updates were introduced in this model year, including a rear-seat entertainment system that came standard on the Supersport trim level and a rear seat with recline and massage functions. This model’s standard powertrain was a 5.0L V8 that produced 385 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque while getting an EPA-estimated 16 mpg city and 23 mpg combined. The roomy cabin served up 120.0 cubic feet of space for passengers, while the trunk provided 15.2 cubic feet of cargo space. This Jaguar sedan was also early to introduce available advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control and a forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking.

The Jaguar XJ underwent one of the most complete redesigns in the storied model’s history for the 2011 model year. The interior and exterior were comprehensively redesigned and brought the car’s looks into the 21st century. This model was offered with a pair of supercharged V8 powertrains, including a supercharged 5.0L V8 that generated 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque and could sprint from 0-60 mph in only 4.7 seconds. New features introduced for this model year included a blind spot warning system, heated and cooled front seats, and Bluetooth streaming audio. It’s notable that at the time, none of these features came standard on comparable models from European rivals.
