2017 Jaguar F-PACE vs. 2017 BMW X3

2017 BMW X3
There are plenty of small crossover SUVs out there these days, but sometimes you want one that does more than just fulfill your pragmatic needs. There are a few high-performance small luxury crossovers out there, including the all-new 2017 Jaguar F-PACE. Boasting available supercharged V6 performance, lots of rear cargo space, and a standard Meridian sound system, it makes a strong case for itself at the top of the segment. The 2017 BMW X3 continues to draw attention from drivers in the Marco Island area, though, so it’s worth taking the time to compare the two before visiting Jaguar Fort Myers.
You’ll find two different engine options on the table from the 2017 Jaguar F-PACE, both of which come standard with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The 35t engine is a supercharged 3.0L V6 that puts out a commanding 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. The 20d is a turbo-diesel 2.0L inline-four that makes 180 hp and 318 lb-ft of torque.
There are three different engines available on the BMW X3, but they don’t meet up to the output offered on the Jaguar F-PACE. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder that makes 240 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A mid-level turbo-diesel inline-four makes 180 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. The top engine—a turbocharged six-cylinder—falls short as well, making just 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. The BMW X3 also comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Some models come with rear-wheel drive and others come with all-wheel drive.
Passenger and Cargo Space
The Jaguar F-PACE and the BMW X3 both feature standard seating for up to five adult passengers, but you’ll get noticeably more room for storage in back if you opt for the F-PACE. The Jaguar luxury crossover features 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space in back, while the BMW X3 only comes with 27.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats.
Both of these premium compact SUVs come with an abundance of high-tech features on every model, including Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, power adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power liftgate, and leatherette upholstery. Unlike the BMW X3, though, the Jaguar F-PACE comes standard with a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, the Jaguar model gets a standard 11-speaker Meridian sound system, while the BMW X3 only gets a standard nine-speaker factory sound system.
