Sunset at the beach

There’s nothing quite like a fall road trip to give you that feeling of nostalgia for the good ol’ days spent adventuring with friends and family. Whether you’re headed out solo or are preparing to create some new memories with your travel companion(s), there are so many exciting places you can visit in your new Jaguar vehicle. Check out this guide to some of the best day road trips you can take from either Bonita Springs or Fort Myers.

1. Highlands Hammock State Park

Having opened in 1931, Highlands Hammock State Park is one of the oldest parks in the state of Florida. It’s about a 1.5-hour drive from Fort Myers. On the way, you’ll go past the Babcock Ranch Preserve and Platt Branch Wildlife and Environmental Area. The park itself is home to a vast, old growth cypress swamp, pine flatwoods, and wildlife like birds, alligators, turtles, and deer.

Location:
5931 Hammock Road
Sebring, FL 33872

2. Clearwater Beach

Fall doesn’t mean the end of beach season. This is Florida, after all! If you’re thinking about heading out for a fun day at the beach this fall, consider making it up to Clearwater Beach outside of Tampa. In addition to fun in the sun at the beach, Clearwater also has plenty of great spots to grab some dinner and do some shopping once you’re done catching rays.

Location:
112 S. Osceola Avenue
Clearwater, FL

3. University of Florida

It may be on the long side of a Florida road trip, but what says fall more than a trip to a thriving university on a Saturday morning to enjoy a game of Division I college football? On top of enjoying a game and the pristine beauty of the university, Gainesville also has a thriving nightlife to offer visitors, complete with award-winning restaurants, bars, music, and theatre.

Location:
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
157 Gale Lemerand Drive
Gainesville, FL
